Walking into a bar can feel daunting if you don’t know the drinks or the jargon. クラウド, a street-level bar in Nishiogi-Minami, puts guests at ease. The bartender at the counter is friendly and full of conversation. Even if you’re not familiar with spirits, share the flavours you like or the mood you’re in, and they’ll draw on their knowledge to suggest a cocktail, whisky or beer.

The shelves hold a good range of whiskies, including Scotch, making it easy to enjoy comparing pours and finding a favourite. Try one of the manager’s original cocktails, or take your time over a familiar mix such as cassis with oolong tea. There’s room to enjoy a drink at your own pace. Food is also available to snack on as you sip, rounding out a relaxed evening over wine or other drinks.

The bar is open from 8 pm until 4 am and is closed on Sundays. It’s an easy place to drop in, whether you want a quiet evening to unwind on your own or a relaxed chat with someone else.
